A Beacon Amidst Shadows
A Lighthouse Themed Anthology

The lighthouse – and by definition, its keeper – straddles the boundary between land and sea, between safety and threat, and between warning and guardian so effortlessly it’s hard not to imagine a thousand stories for them.
For this anthology, authors were asked to consider lighthouses as the foundation of their story, and use it in a way that lifts their tale above the deep waters and takes it into safe harbor – or, with less metaphor, to enhance the story, not weigh it too heavily.

Knisely’s story “BLOODTHIRSTY WANDERER” is a coming-of-age memoir piece about the night – as the price of becoming a Boy Scout – he had to venture alone into an abandoned lighthouse. Many years later Knisely reports he is still afraid – but still a Boy Scout.
